Frosty Forest, is the next monthly series from Country Cottage Needleworks. The picture is a sneak peak at the first pattern that will be shipping early December and information on the programme.
The "Frosty Forest" series is a 9 part series, with one pattern being released each month starting in December. All of the designs have a suggested fabric of 32 count Pearl Grey Linen, and all measure the same size with a stitch count of 65w by 65h. This makes them about 4" square on the 32 count fabric.
Each of the designs look great stitched on their own, but they were designed so you can stitch them all together. If you decide to stitch the entire series in that way it will have a stitch count of 199w x 199h, which makes it about 12 1/2" square, so you will need an 18" square piece of 32 count fabric. If you decide to stitch all the designs as one piece, simply leave two stitches between each of the blocks. The first design to be released is "Raccoon Cabin," which is the top middle block. The following designs will be released in clockwise order, ending with the "Frosty Forest" design in the middle.
Another special part of the designs is that each will use one button from Just Another Button Company. Using the button though is completely optional, and so it is not included with the pattern. If you like the button you can purchase as an add on, and if not, then just stitch the chart as directed without the button. Keep in mind that the buttons were chosen to fit with the 32 count fabric, so if you choose a different fabric count they may not fit the design as well.
Nikki has provided a list of the pattern names in the order that they will be released. Raccoon Cabin, Snowy Deer, Snowman's Cottage, Snowy Friends, Bluebird Cabin, Snowy Foxes, Snowgirl's Cottage, Snowy Reindeer, Frosty Forest.
We are also now offering to send you any overdye flosses that are used as well with your auto. So your options will be pattern on its own or you can add on the fabric, buttons and floss.
We will have these up for sale each month on the website but those who sign up for the nine months will be guaranteed their order each month.
The Stitching Post and Caring Hearts Community Quilts are working together to collect quilts to give to some of the hundreds of families who have lost everything in the bush fires currently raging through the Blue Mountains area. If you have any quilts you would like to donate, please drop them off at our store and we will make sure they go to families in need.
The Home Patch ( Bathurst ), The Stitching Post ( Katoomba), Blueberries ( Wyong ), Cherry Pie Designs ( Somersby ) and Pieces to Treasure ( MacMasters Beach ) invite you to take part in a Patchwork & Quilting Shop Hop.
Event Date: February, 2014
As the shops are spread over quite a distance ( perhaps 2 perfect weekends away from home ! ) you can also qualify for prizes by puchasing online at any of these stores during February.
Passports will be available soon.
